About Practicing the Way

Practicing the Way is a Christian missional church committed to following Jesus through intentional community, spiritual disciplines, and active discipleship. Meeting weekly, we gather to nurture a missional lifestyle and grow deeper in our faith together.

Each week, our group comes together around the table to share a meal, build authentic relationships, and engage in thoughtful conversation. Our discussions centre on the nine practices outlined by the Practicing the Way framework, focusing on practical application and mutual accountability as we seek to embody the teachings of Jesus.

Our Mission and Values

• Worshipping Jesus as Lord: We prioritize spiritual disciplines—such as prayer, Scripture meditation, and service—to deepen our love for Jesus and grow as His disciples.

• Authentic Community: By meeting regularly, we cultivate genuine biblical fellowship, encouraging and challenging one another in our walk with Christ.

• Making Disciples: Inspired by Matthew 28:19-20 and Ephesians 5:1-2, our group is devoted to learning how to become—and make—disciple makers, equipping each person to continue on this journey and invite others along.

• Obedience to God’s Word: We believe in being doers of the Word, not just hearers. Each week, we hold each other accountable to put what we learn from Jesus into practice in our daily lives.

• Missional Living: Our aim is to live out God’s mission in our neighbourhood and beyond, embodying the way of Jesus in every aspect of life.

Openness and Group Structure

Practicing the Way is an open and welcoming group for all who wish to journey with us. However, in order to foster a safe and focused environment for growth, we become a closed group while we are in the midst of a particular book study. New participants are warmly invited to join at the start of each new study cycle.
